So life is going pretty well for you. You are completely content. You have the latest iPhone, money is being poured in, you have an amazing group of friends, grades are great, you have a reliable car, a beautiful house with a beautiful family, you read your devotional every morning, you get your daily coffee fix from Starbucks before work; but suddenly all of that is taken away...
You're left with nothing at all.
You're left with nothing at all.
Would you still be on fire for Jesus?
Would you physically open up your bible even though it isn't as accessible as a smartphone?
Would you still rejoice and be glad?

Would you still rejoice and be glad?
The bible specifically instructs us to stay in communication with God, whether we're completely content or worn down.
- Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore! 1 Chronicles 16:11
- Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Jesus is so much more than the "good things" in our lives. In fact, He is our one and only source of joy, and He deserves all praise forever and ever!
His love for you goes deeper than any worldly pleasure we can ever receive on this planet. Jesus willingly died for you to live and to be set free. Because of His death we can be sure that we have a home with Him, in heaven, for eternity! How could we not praise Him for His ultimate sacrifice? ♡
So we must remember to rely on Jesus:
In the dark or in the light. In a house or in a box. With friends or without friends. When we're joyful or in despair.
