With all the tragic events that have been happening worldwide, I've seen a great amount of people trying to justify why they question and blame God when bad things happen. Seeing all of this negativity really makes me sit and think about how thankful I am to have the relationship I have with Christ.
These people, that question and blame God are missing the one thing that keeps us Christians going, and that's HOPE. Without my hope in God and my Lord and Savior then yes, I am living a wasteful life. If I didn't have the hope of Jesus Christ returning again, to take me up to heaven for an eternity of life with him, then I would feel helpless too.
Side note:
(The book of Habakkuk is a great example to our present times and I urge you to read it like I did because it is extremely relevant and the ending is all about praise and faith!! Please read it, it isn't very long either!)

Having faith in God (through whatever tragic event may happen to us or anyone else) is key.
I've learned to praise Him through the rough patches in my life, and in praising Him during such vulnerable times makes praising Him during happy times that much better!
To anyone reading this:
Have hope, and as many people say, "keep the faith". Hope in Christ keeps us grounded, it keeps us going, and it will lead to eternal life in heaven.
Years before I became a Christian (probably around 6th or 7th grade), this one bible verse always intrigued me: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
It's a little crazy to think that God was reaching out to me years before I even knew Him or knew that having a relationship with Him would lead to a life of joy, even when you feel sad at the same time, or an unexplainable feeling of comfort. So put your faith and hope in God because he will never abandon you. He's always there and available to talk to.
Here's one of my favorite songs
I hope it will inspire you to praise God always in hard times and happy times because that's what the song is about!

A Bible Verse to Inspire: (Although you should really read the whole book)
"Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor Fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls -- Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation." Habakkuk 3:17-18
