Every Sunday morning, in between services, I will usually look through Snapchat to kill time. While going through everyone's snaps, the most common thing I see on a Sunday morning are videos & pictures of people drinking way too much alcohol, out at a bar acting crazy, smoking hookah or marijuana, etc. You get the picture! Witnessing all of these snaps from my family and friends during their Saturday night activities really saddens me. And if it saddens me I can only imagine how much it saddens God-- to see his children putting themselves in those environments and drawing away from Him more and more every weekend
(Side note: I'm in no way judging anyone, or making myself to be better than anyone. I've lived through the same temptations and even given into those temptations at a certain point in my life).
The only conclusion I have come to as to why my friends, family, and a billion other people choose to live out their weekends this way and post them publicly through pictures and videos is because they are seeking pleasure.
To the person reading this, (hopefully my Snapchat people are, because this post was written with you in mind!) Jesus is the way, THE TRUTH, and the life. Lean on Him for any trials and tribulations that you are faced with because He died so you can live! Only God can fill those voids and fully love the way you wish to be loved. Turn away from your sins, and repent! It is never too late to turn away from the sinful life and be saved!
If you don't know what this means friends, please feel free to ask me!
Here are are some bible verses that I hope you'll like:
“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,”
Acts 3:19
“Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.”
Proverbs 3:7-8
““I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.””
II Corinthians 6:18
